Italian Seasoning Recipe

This Italian seasoning recipe is useful to have on hand. Make this Italian seasoning mix when you have fresh herbs to dry, or dried herbs to use up before they lose their flavor.

This is a simple recipe to help bring together some great flavors to enhance your meals. Think about using it in places where you normally use salt. You will save on the sodium and at the same time bring a whole new flavor to your meals.

This recipe is not only versatile, it is interchangeable as well. You can customize it to your own taste. If you prefer the flavor of any particular herb, add more of it. Don't like a particular herb? Add less or omit it altogether. This is the recipe that I like the best. Customize it to suit your own taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjaram
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for up to six months.

You can easily multiply the measurements in this recipe to make more if needed. Add Italian seasoning to soups, stews, casseroles or your favorite pasta dish.
