Basil Pasta Recipe - Linguine with Tomatoes and Basil Cream Sauce
This basil pasta recipe combines whole sweet cherry tomatoes and a decadent basil cream sauce for a mouth-watering meal you won't soon forget.
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons butter
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
4 cups cherry tomatoes, left whole
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves, shredded
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
3/4 pound linguine
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation:
Cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and saute for one minute. Add the tomatoes and saute for two more minutes. Stir in the cream and bring to a boil. Continue boiling 1 to 2 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in the basil. Season with salt and pepper.
Drain the linguine and place in a serving bowl. Pour the sauce over the noodles and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
