Amazing Vegan Pizza Dough

1 pkg. yeast
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup lukewarm water, split in half. You will use only 1/2 cup of water at a time.
3 tbsp basil, fresh or dried depending on what is available to you. This addition is what makes this recipe sing.

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 a cup of lukewarm water and let it stand for about 5 minutes, or until yeast becomes frothy. In a bowl, mix flour, basil and salt. Add yeast and water mixture to the bowl and mix, then gradually add the remainder of the water until it becomes pliable, elastic dough. Form into a ball, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise until the dough has doubled in size. Be sure to chose a warm place and allow to rise for about 20-30 minutes.

Once the dough has risen, roll out dough onto a baking dish; leave a lip around the edge, this will form the crust. Spread sauce, add toppings of your choice. Bake at 450 degrees F for about 20 minutes, until crisp and enjoy! :)

I use this recipe a few times a week for me fiancé and myself and it always turns out amazingly. My fiancé can always be counted on to say "Yay, pizza!" when I make it and devours his when they are done. This pizza is a hit with non vegans also and can easily be modified with the addition of cheese and other toppings such as pepperoni and sausage.
